USAID's New Electoral Assessment Framework: A Blueprint for Assessing Challenges and Opportunities in Elections and Political Processes
On May 26, 2021, the DRG Center launched the Electoral Assessment Framework and Companion Toolkit. These resources are designed to assist USAID DRG staff, other relevant United States Government personnel, and implementing partners in systematically assessing a country’s political and electoral context to inform the design of strategies to promote democratic elections and political processes. The Framework takes into account emerging challenges and opportunities in elections around the world, including democratic backsliding, new electoral security threats, disinformation, and issues related to the spread of new technologies.
The session featured DRG Center and Mission-based staff who took a deep dive into the assessment framework, highlighted how it's already been used, and discussed how to use it in your everyday work.
